PERSONALITY!;
you know that intolerant, egomaniacal jerk that everyone loves to pick on because they know he's a coward deep down? thankfully, that's not Lynacht. Unfortunately, that doesn't make him any less of a jerk. to be blunt, he's a stubborn, conceited asshole whose penchant for sadism is nearly on par to his philanthropic urges. confusing right? he doesn’t much understand it himself, wanting to hurt others on a bi-weekly basis and simultaneously having altruistic compulsions toward those he victimizes. it is a few lashes of the proverbial whip only to turn around and lick the wounds he made. it all amounts to Lynacht’s less than subliminal endorsement of himself in others as much as a play on dominance and submission. while he has done a decent amount of maturing lately, the habit still a strong temptations, he has curbed his violent tendencies to a manageable level.
While it is no secret that the boy thinks the world of himself he, in an unforeseen stroke of humility, keeps most of his self-sanctioning comments to himself or subtly slipping them into a sentence. Speaking of, discretion is something he is to be commended on for while he is jocular, rude, flirtatious and beyond all things a nuisance when he wishes, he is just as likely to fade into the background. He is prone to being cryptic, alluding to something of the grandeur but only supplying snippets of such, infuriatingly uncooperative and suddenly vanishing all together. He is forthright to a handful of others and even they are not always given the grace of knowing what the mastermind is up to before he takes off and develops a temporary revulsion for company and disappears for a time and then returning as though he hadn’t just implied a coup d’etat.
his candid attitude and frolicsome antics are ruling aspects of his character but not because that is all there is to him. it's nothing more than a facade to throw off his peers and to keep any of his intentions, good or bad, to himself. but loyalty is never a real issue with him. while it might seem that the guy never actually appears to care one way or the other how things are done so long as his involvement won't jeopardize his life or safety. he will sooner fight to the death than sell himself or others to those who would do them harm or do something against their will. this trait combined with his fierce devotion makes Lynacht the kind of wolf that would never betray his pack or rat out someone who's confided in him. but there's a catch to this. in order for him to invest so much loyalty into something, it has to mean a lot to him. and... well, his list of things he doesn't give a damn about is a lot longer than his list of meaningful elements. remember, this guy is very self-absorbed and everyone knows that, since arrogant people are self-centered, they tend not to care too much for anything that doesn't directly involve or benefit their own self.
in fact, he intentionally seeks out connections with others that will benefit him in some way. otherwise you're deemed useless and tend to be relatively ignored. this could very well explain Lyn's ' "i-just-don't-give-a-****" attitude. no, it's not part of some act he tries to put on. it's just how he is and you can never predict when it's going to kick in full-throttle. a prime example of a sociopathic mindset at work. he could be fully engaged in a group conversation one day, then skulking in the shadows of a pack meeting the next, as if it were the most boring and pointless thing in the world. oh but when he does speak up, he can quickly become everyone's most hated or loved character. he's not afraid to speak his mind and he can be bold to the point of impudent. no matter how harsh or rude his comment may be, he'll voice it aloud without a care. but anyway, it's just hard to fully understand his loyalties. he would sit back and watch his entire pack burn to the ground just as soon as he would sacrifice his life defending it. sometimes you just can't tell who's side he's really on.
In completion, Lynacht is not a bad guy nor can he really be equated to being a good guy either. He is a creature out for his own gain and shamelessly embraces this but hides his intelligence under a friendlier guise.
