If it were possible for her kind to weep, then the she-wolf would certainly have tears streaming down her face. But the mist from the waterfall would have to do. It coated her white fur as well as her blood-red markings, dampening it and making it look as though she had been crying for hours on end. Her golden eyes were certainly misty as she thought of the whole reason she was here.
Thoughts were swirling in her head as the she-wolf remembered the one who had claimed her heart, only to tear it out and leave it in the dirt. It was nearly enough to make her howl out in anguish for what she had lost. Not just the love of her life, her complete opposite, and her soul mate. The pups she had once carried in her womb, the pups of her best friend and confidant. The wolf of Darkness she was raised to love and hate at the same time. Fell. Oh how she missed his face and his voice.
Many moons had passed she she had seen him last. That fateful day that he left her alone, with no reasoning, right as she was about to tell him the most wonderful news! Something inside of her broke that day, her heart probably, when Fell left her. The thoughts proved too much for the white and red wolf and feeling as though she was too weak to stand any longer, the massive wolf collapsed to the ground in a heap. Her shoulders shook with sobs that could not be expressed with tears. It was pure anguish that the pathetic she-wolf was feeling. Nothing more, nothing less.
Thinking back to that day once more the femme howled out, the pain of being alone too much to bear in silence. She no longer cared what found her. The moons of travelling away from her first home made her weary of life. The scent she had followed, that gave her hope, had vanished when she came close to this place she heard was called Taterus. The lonely she-wolf tried to go on, tried to find the next place her lover's scent was... But to no avail. Resigned to death, Aurelia, the daughter of Tarune and Fortitude, covered her face with her paws to block out whatever was coming to end her pathetic existence forever.

He had expected to never see her again. He wouldn't blame her. He had left without so much as a goodbye or sign of where he was going. For all he knew, she probably thought he was dead. It was probably safer that way anyway. As his opposite in the war, her death had forever been emanate in his father's eyes and when he had fallen in love with her instead, he was now determined to kill them both, no matter if he was his father's son or not. So he did the best thing he could think of. He left. Leaving her behind only because if she thought he was dead, it would be safer for her. But since he left, he began to feel stupid and foolish. They still could have been safe if he had taken her with him. His father hadn't followed him here, as if he cared, so taking her with him so they could be together would have been the better choice. And yet, for all he knew, she probably loved someone else and had forgotten him. Stupid.
He had wandered these lands hating himself for weeks since he had gotten her and now he had fallen into a sort of depression where the darkness that still loomed within him whispered things to him that would only darken his soul more. But ignoring them was getting harder and harder. Soon he would allow his father's darkened blood to take control and he would be the son of darkness his father wanted which would ultimately make him forget all about Aurelia. That was the only part of him he still hung onto. The fact that his love with Aurelia had been so strong. She was still the only reason he hadn't let the darkness take him.
The sound of the cascading waterfall was relaxing to his ears and the warm spray of water on his face was even more peaceful. He was sitting at the top of the falls, his eyes closed, taking in the luxury of the moment. He was completely unaware that he wasn't alone. Since his time here in these lands, he had made himself a home, but had done nothing with it. He had joined a pack in the hopes that he could start fresh but the memory of Aurelia continued to eat at him and he did nothing more in the pack than mope around. Hell, he had only met the Alpha once and had done nothing more to get to know him. "Oh, Aurelia..." he whispered. "What have I done?"
A sudden howl of pure emotion nearly knocked him backwards and his all black eyes shot up, gazing down over the waterfall. The wolf that had made the sound had sounded completely heartbroken and, he had to admit, he was little worried. He let his eyes wander around a bit more but came up with nothing. But he knew the wolf was down there. He moved from his spot and walked away from the waterfall to find the trail that led down to the base of the waterfall, where the cooling pools were. He came out from beneath the trees, gazing out over the pool of water and spotted a wolf, a she-wolf by the smell but the water dulled her scent and he couldn't tell who she was.
He waded into the water , kicking his paws as he swam across and came out on the other side, shaking the water from his fur, before he approached her. "Ma'am? Are you alr-" He stopped in his tracks. Her scent hit him in the face like a ton of bricks and her markings danced before his eyes as familiar as his own paws. He suddenly lost breath, his heart pounding away in his chest, threatening to escape as he took her in. Aurelia. She had followed him all the way here, ever after all this time. He couldn't believe it was actually her to the point he thought that, perhaps, he was merely dreaming. Uncertain now if this was reality, he took a step backwards. "Aurelia?" he asked, his voice whispered as his brain prepared for the truth that this was a dream.

Her ears swiveled to the voice that called her name. The voice that she knew so well. Her heart seemed to fracture even more. She couldn't stand any more heartbreak, but there he was. His voice at least. Making her hope that just for once, things would go her way.
"What fresh hell is this?" she spat. Even in spite of her current emotional state, Aurelia's temper got the better of her. It was like there was some one out there, making her torment last instead of killing her outright. Her hope, from back in Mendoza, had been shattered when he left. The she-wolf had hoped, with all of her being, that she and Fell could bring about some peace between the Darks and Lights. But when he left her, without a reason, something inside of her broke. Like all of her hope and joy that came with being alive died.
Daring to try again, to try and live like before, she moved one of her paws from her face. One golden eye, shimmering with tears unable to be shed, peered out. Seeing the male before her made her sigh in what felt like relief. Momentarily, Aurelia thought that he was a dream. But when she saw him in her dreams, he was never facing her. Ever. It was always like he was leaving her again.
"F-Fell?" she murmured warily. "Why are you here? I thought you didn't want me any more..." Her mind began to work in overdrive with this new revelation. Here was Fell, her one true love, standing in front of her plain as day. But he left me. she told herself angrily. He left me to the pain of living without him. And his pups..... That sent her back to hiding beneath her paws.
Covering up her eyes again, the massive she-wolf sobbed. How could she tell him that she had been pregnant when he left? Aurelia feared that it would send him away again. She, a healthy and quite fertile female, lost a litter of pups. Those she knew and those that knew she had been pregnant explained it away with words like "depression does funny things" and "it's not your fault, sweetheart." But those words did little to comfort her. Nothing was capable of bringing her out of that deep, dark hole that she could herself in when her best friend left her.
"You left me, alone, cold," she barked from beneath her paws. "How could you even come and find me? Why not back then, when I was...." Her words broke off as she sobbed again. The anger couldn't hold when she was still so depressed. It had been moons ago that she had lost that litter, but that loss hung over her like a blanket. That blanket smothered her, covering up all else. There was nothing happy and bright when one who wanted to be a mother couldn't. And not just because she didn't have someone to give her pups. But because she was too depressed in the first place to raise them properly.
"Why, Fell, WHY?!" Aurelia was suddenly on her feet. If it were not for the fact that she and Fell were of the same breed, she would tower over him. "You left me back there, in Mendoza, alone. Alone with your parents. And your kin. Do you think they left me alone? NO." Now she was raging. It was a mood swing, yes, but it was one that needed to happen. There was a build-up of anger and she wanted - no, needed - to get rid of. "Your family, all of them," she continued. "Demanded of me the knowledge of where you went. What could I have told them other than 'I have no idea. He didn't tell me either!'" Her whole body was shaking with the strength of her rage at him and his ilk. It was taking all of her concentration to just stay where she was and not bolt or attack him.
"If it wasn't for the fact that I still held some respect for you , she said somewhat calmly, having vented most of her anger. "I would attempt to kill you where you stand."

Obviously this wasn't a dream. The Aurelia in his dreams had come running back into his arms. Not unleash the fires of Hell onto him in anger. He could only stand and stare dumbfounded at her as she went into a rage. He could care less about how mad she was at him and their situation. He could care less how hurt he had made her by leaving. He had dwelt enough on those to dwell too much on them now. All he cared about was her scent filling his nose and her eyes as she watched him. It truly was her! All these long days of dreaming about her, of wishing he could return and see her and yet, here she was, standing right before him.
As soon as she burst into tears, however, he ran to her side, covering most of her body with his own, to comfort her. His own tears burst from his eyes and he licked away at her salty tears. "Shh!" he whispered into her ear. "I"m sorry, love! I thought that if everyone thought I was dead it would be for the best. But I was so very wrong. I ruined it all. I'm sorry and I can understand if you never forgive me again. I love you Aurelia and that's all that matters." Now he wasn't sure who's tears he was licking up, hers or her own. He wanted nothing more than to curl up next to her forever and never leave her side. He never wanted to let her leave his side again.
Who cared if she was his opposite? Who made the stupid laws anyway? The Gods?! He would have liked to see the Gods come down and fight their opposite. Besides, the Gods had mated! Why couldn't they? No one had seemed to understand that. Because of the God's mating, they had made his and Aurelia's parents and family. Without their mating, they wouldn't be here themselves. Certainty there was some sort of good that would come of their mating. Fell had been ready for a family before he had left. He had even laid with her a few times before his left. Was it possible she had had pups? Who knew. He had left before he could have found out. If she would have, he was have expected her to take them with her. Although, by the amount of tears and hurt she was expressing, he was beginning to wonder otherwise. "Aurelia... Did-did you ever... conceive?" He asked her in a whisper, dreading the answer she would give him.

As soon as he began to shower her with licks, Aurelia melted. She couldn't stay angry at someone who, in spite of leaving, still loved her. The she-wolf buried her nose in his fur, inhaling the scent that she loved so much. It gave her a sort of peace to have him in front of her, declaring his love for her. Whining with joy, the dire wolf wagged her tail and nuzzled her mate with wild abandon.
When he asked if she had become pregnant, Aurelia backed off quickly. She feared telling Fell that she had lost that litter. Continuing her retreat, her golden eyes bright with unshed tears mingled with fear. "Don't..." she murmured. "Don't... ask.." Shaking her head, trying to dispel the thoughts of the pain of her miscarriage, Aurelia howled again. As her howl petered out, the female fell to the ground and covered her face again. "Lady Moon punished me!" she sobbed quietly, hiding beneath her paws again. "Punished me for being with my opposite."
Her sobbing became hysterical laughter after a moment. It was to be expected, up until now she had been alone and frightened. Now, with her mate back in front of her, Aurelia was safe to say what she wanted without fear of being called insane. "I lost them, Fell," the female said slowly. "They were lost before I carried them to full term."
