What he had done to her, was unfathomable; unforgivable. He didn't know why he was even searching for her if he already knew what he had done was beyond a simple apology. He had done exactly what he he had done to her all those years ago, if what she told him was true. He had brushed her off as easily as if she had been nothing more than a pup. He wouldn't be able to live with himself if he didn't find her and tell her his true feelings, that he had simply done it to keep his place in the pack. Selfish, yes, he would admit that but packlife was all he knew. He couldn't be a loner. It just wasn't in his genetic code. He came down a gently sloping hill and stopped between some trees and sat down, a whine escaping him. He had been all around the other packs and the last few loner lands and not a single hint of her scent. He whined again and lay down, his chin resting on his front paws. He would have to return to Chara soon. He might as well be on house arrest for the punishment she had put on him. But he didn't want to go back without first finding her. She had to stop during her flight out when the rain storm had hit. She wasnt able to fly in the rain, it was to much for her to handle, she had tears rolling down her face and she didnt need the rain hitting her in the face. She stayed in the hallowed out den till sunrise where she came out and streached out herself, her wings flared out and retreacted back onto her back as she looked around. she took a deep breath and then sat down and curled her tail over her paws, she soon began to lick her legs in an attempt to flatten her fur. She looked around as she soon heard the sound of bird cawing and tweating in the morning light. She sighed some as a pair of blue jays flew over head. She smiled and then flared out her wings and took to the air chasing the birds. She caught up with them but when they seen her they seperated and darted away. She stopped and hovvered in the air as she looked around. She soared back down to the ground nad landed gently and walked around till she found a small pond and knelt down and lapped up some of the water. She growled softly as the water tasted horrible, she shook her head in discust and then sighed some as she rose to her feet and looked around. She walked back to where she had stayed and whinned some. She felt alone now more then ever, she had found him only for him to turn his back on her yet again. Why couldnt she let him go? Why did she have to put herself threw this again? she pulled her black ears agasint her head and closed her lavander eyes. She soon opened them quickly as the familiar scent filled her nose. She rose up and her hackles rose up and she lowered her head in an aggressive manner. She was not in the mood to deal with any one at the moment. She then seen him appear just off to the side. She snarled and then turned her head away from where he was and spat at the ground. Great he came to finish the alpha's job, looks like i will have to fight my way out of this hell hole she thought as she stood there just watching him with careful eyes. He lifted his head from his paws and looked around, finally spotting her only a little ways away. He whined but didn't get up right away. He would have to approach this situation delicately. When she turned her face away from him, as though the very memory of him hurt her, he finally stood up, his body low, his body language express every amount of "sorry" he could muster up. He slowly approached her, head down and tail between his legs like a lowly Omega to an Alpha. "Koara?" he called softly, dropping to his belly before her, exposing his neck if she so chose to rip it from his spine. "I was a complete asshole. I never meant anything I said but there was no way for me to tell you that I was only putting on a show for Chara to keep my pack and rank. Selfish, I know and I feel horrid but I would feel worse without you. If it is true what you said and that we were once mates, I don't want to ruin that again for you. I want to be there for you like I wasn't there for you and I want to give you everything you've ever wanted. Nothing I can do can prove to you how sorry I am and I am willing to take the time to prove it to you, if you so choose but please, please don't hate me. I didn't come on commands of Chara. I came on my own account, to find you, to apologize to you and to hopefully, win you over." He stood up then, careful to keep himself lower than her, giving her the respect she so desired. He reached up delicately and licked her beneath the chin in a loving manner, a soft whine escaping him. "I'm so sorry, Koara..." he whispered, his tail slowly beginning to wag. She flashed her fangs in manner that showed that she was not happy with him. She looked at him with harsh eyes and his words hit her ears. she looked at him and kinda snorted some, she had heard it before but some how she just couldnt turn him down. she couldnt be mad at the male at all it was driving her nuts. She growled softly and then looked at him with eyes that glimmered now with tears that began to fill her eyes. she turned her head away and wiped the tears from her face and then looked at him "Leto you are killing me, You have no idea how hard it is for me not to just leave this place and leave you here with her. I cant be here, when you are acting this way. I cant handle it" She folded her ears back and the words i am sorry and i love you hit her ears. She turned her head away and shuddered some. It was those same words that made her fall for him again, made her want to be in his pressence and make her want to be with him no matter what. She looked at him and smirked some. She lowered her body lower then his and licked under his chin and ran herself along his side and then nudged him with her pink nose and smiled at him "Why can i not be mad at you? Why must you hold me so dear? Leto. I love you too" she said as she leaned agasint him her tail curled up to the side of her and her wings were tucked closely to her body, She didnt want him to leave her but she knew that he would have to some time soon. He lept up before she could nip at him and pranced a few feet away, his front body bent downwards as his tail wagged in the air. He pawed the ground in front of him, barking at her, teasing her to chase him. He couldn't remember the last time he had felt like this. He had been too serious, too concerned with the terror of Nahani and his forces that he hadn't given himself time to feel like this. It was like a high. The blood in his veins was buzzing, dancing as if his very veins were on fire. His head was stuffy and warm and whenever he tried to focus on something important, it would slip away, leaving him with the overjoyed sensation of, well ,being high. "Catch me if you can!" he teased and yipped before he leapt into the air and took off, his playful laughter echoing after him. He danced between the trees, zig-zagging every which direction and continuously looking back at her to see if she was following. If only Chara could see him now... He ment everything to her and it was something that Koara was not afraid to show others how she felt about the male. She turned and looked at him as he nipped at her and smiled some as she watched him bound away lauging and yipping like a pup, like how he used to be when they where young. She heard him say catch me if you can. She smirked and flared out her wings and took to the air, she knew it was cheating almost but she didnt care, she wanted to suprise him with her skills of being able to find him no matter what. She flew high above the air and took in deep breaths and smiled as she caught his scent, she tucked her wings into her side and darted down to the forest where the male hid. She landed on a large tree branch and then looked around her Lavander eyes searched the land as she searched for him. She smirked as she picked up her paws form the tree and hit the ground just behind him but when she hit it was silent. She crep up behind him and nipped at his tail and laughed as she flared out her wings and pushed her way back up threw the branches and took back to the air. She soared high above and smiled as she flew, she loved it so much and it was so relaxing to her to fly high in the sky, though her reality kicked in and she went back to the ground and looked at leto with soft eyes. He didn't even care that she had wings and could catch him as easily as a bird of prey would a mouse. In fact, he found it quite humorous. It would certainly throw a wrench into a game of tag someday. He laughed as she pounced on him then jumped into the tree above him. "Hey!" he called up, his tail wagging, that's not fair!" But he didn't mean it. He watched her above him before she came back down and twined herself around him, making him shudder with pleasure. He never knew that being this close to a female would make him feel like this. He wanted nothing more than to follow her to the ends of the world and back again, even if it made his paws bleed. Everything was stripped from his mind, the pack, Chara, even Nahani and the rebellion to be replaced by just her. It was a strange delirium that she put him in but he wasn't complaining. He might have wings but he felt like he could fly. She came back around in front of him and he licked her cheek, before poking her side with his nose and whining. All the playfulness had left him to be replaced by seriousness. "I was serious when I mentioned starting a family with you..." he murmured. "Do you still want to? Or is it too early? She looked at him with soft eyes, she never could be mad at him, even if he were to change how he acted when he was around teh female that was alphess of the lands that she had just been upon. She turned her head towards where the lands were and whined some. She knwe that she wouldnt be able to go back there, at least not till things settled down and chara chilled out some. she then turned to the lands to where the wolf that was called Nahani laid claims to land. She flicked her ears and then sat down and curled her ebony tail around her paws and sighed some. She then heard the words that he was serious about wanting a family with her and if it was to early. Her ears flicked arorund her head and then she sat up and began to lick his face with soft loving licks. She looked at him with soft lavander eyes and nuzzled him and softly spoke "It is never to early when it comes to you leto. I have wanted pups with you since the day i met you." she ran herself along his side and let out soft yips at him. She never had the guts to tell him before but she had wanted pups, though the thought if mating scared Koara. She turned her head away from him and took in a deep breath and then turned back to him and slipped under leto and pressed herself agasint him as she slipped between his front legs and pushed up on him. She looked up at him with a smile and nipped at the underside of his chest. She swayed her tail behind her and streched out her wings to make it more easy for her to lay under the massive male. Her lavander and dark pink striped ears were folded back against her head as she laid crouched under the male. She wasnt sure how he would react but it felt right to be under the male at the moment. He already knew that Chara has no doubt "chased him out" considering he hadn't returned to the pack in a few weeks. The thought upset him. He had worked hard to get into Dynsay and to win Chara's trust and he had thrown it back into her face. All for what? A female who had batted her eyes at him. He had always lived in a pack, it was his way of life. He didn't know any other life. And this life, with Koara, constantly roaming the loner lands, wasn't something he could get a good grasp on. Food was scarce and harder to catch when it was just yourself and there was the constantly being on edge, as well, that came without the reassurance that pack boundaries would keep out rogues. But he had to allow himself to trust Koara. Trust that she wasn't putting them in harm's way. After all, she had been a loner for a lot longer than he had been. After committing to Koara and becoming mates, it was going to be a lot harder to even face Chara. Even though he knew she had probably thrown him out on his ass, he felt it right to return to her, to at least tell her he was sorry, last rites and such. He just wasn't looking forward to it. He knew Chara's anger and he had learned from long ago not to tempt it. A bird flew into the oak above him, his shrill song echoing through the canopy of leaves and branches above him, making him sigh with contentment. He had to say, though, that being a loner was relaxing. In Dynsay, he had never gotten the chance to sit and relax. Chara's main concern was defending Dynsay and Crosul from Nahani's forces. Just being able to lay beneath this tree with a cool summer breeze and the birds oblivious to him, was like paradise to him. As the bird flew onto a next tree, he sat up, his ears perked up. Where was Koara anyway? He hadn't remembered seeing her all morning. She had curled up next to him last night to sleep but she was gone by morning and he hadn't seen her since. He stood up and shook the dirt and debris from his fur before he trotted down to the small creek that ran between two gently sloping hills. It ran down from the mountains that surrounded these lands and was always crisp and cool. It was a shame this place wasn't a pack. Leto would probably take it as his own. She had gone for a walk early that morning, she knew that leto would be worried about her, but she needed to walk. She felt cramped up, she flicked her lavander and purple striped ears as she walked along the feild. She sniffed at the ground as she walked along, attempting to make sure that no one else was here like that female chara. Which made Koara think, wouldnt it mean that Leto wouldnt be able to return to the pack? She sat down near a small pond and looked at herself in the waters surrface. She took a deep breath, it was her fault that he got kicked out and it would bother Koara for the rest of her life. She shook herself and then yawned slightly. She knelt down and lapped up some of the cool water. She then sat up and looked around as she flarred out her wings and whined some, it was now hard for her to fly with the extra weight she had, but that was fine to Koara, she didnt mind being grounded for the moment. She soon made her way back towards where her and Leto had made themselves a den for the time being. She watched him running threw the feild with the tall aspen trees she smiled and then took off in a dead sprint and then jumped out infront of him and snapped her jaws at him and then ran off laughing, though she would soon slow down and pant for a moment. She couldnt run for very long which was something else that got to her. She looked back and smiled softly as she turned and flared out her large raven and lavander colored wings. She sat down and curled her tail over her paws and yipped at leto as she wanted him to come to her. She was tired now but that wouldnt slow her down at all. He laughed and bounced after her, frolicking beside her, his side rubbing her side as they went. It wasn't until she stopped did he realize something was different about her. She stopped and was panting heavily and he turned an ear back as he licked her cheek. "Are you okay?" he asked her. Just the other day they had gone hunting together and she hadn't seemed this tired. But it was pretty hot out today. "Come on." he coaxed, poking her neck softly with his nose in an affectionate way. "Let's go lay down. She shook her pelt into place and then nodded her head at him and smiled "Yea i am fine, just tired and getting a little hot" she said as she opened her wings out to releive some of the heat that her body was holding in. She could feel the life form inside of her moving aorund and looked at leto and smiled some and licked his ear and then nudge him with her pink nose and heard him say something about laying in the shade. That sounded like a good idea, it was rather hot for the day and Koara didnt want to over heat and pass out and put her unborn pup in danger. She walked under the old willow tree and streached out over the ground and laid her wings down on the ground. She took a deep breath and then looked at Leto with soft eyes. He was wonderful, he was so caring and loving and it just felt right to be near him. Her stomach shifted slightly and she only hoped that leto would see. She folded her ears back and then laid on her side and laid her wing out and sighed some. She was hot and it was only getting worse. She whinned and then looked up at him and laughed some as she began to roll around in the cool grass and then sat up adn shook her pelt back into place and yawned slightly. her wings were still flared out and attempting to cool her body, She then let out a loud yelp and jumped to her feet and licked her stomach as best as she could. He wanted to whimper slightly at his mate's obvious defects but he kept it to himself. Instead, he stayed close to her as she walked and settled down next to her under the shade where she had lain down. Her wings brushed out to no doubt cool herself down and he didn't seem to mind as they folded out over top of him, shading him even more. He licked her neck in a reassuring loving manner before he poked her belly with his nose. She was putting on weight lately as well. Which was strange because they had only been hunting a few times.... Unless.... Then it hit him. He whined but not in the concerned manner. His tail started to wag as he pressed his nose against her stomach again and this time, yes! There it was! A tiny kick that told him she was carrying his pups! He wanted to leap to his feet and run around their tree, howling his happiness to the winds but he stayed where he was, his body shaking from the anticipation of wanting to express himself. "Why didn't you tell me earlier?" he asked her breathlessly, his eyes shining. All his worries about Chara and Dynsay forgotten. She rolled onto her stomach and looked at the ground "To be honest i didnt know what to say. I am still a little shocked myself leto." she said as she got to her feet and streached out and then laid back down on the ground and looked back at leto and sighed. She knew that he was kicked out of the pack, but she still felt like he should go talk to the alphess and let her know what was going on so at least she could get another beta. She then began to think, Where would they raise the pups? She didnt want them to live the life that she had. She wanted to teach them how to be in a pack. She laid her head down on her paws and sighed "Leto you should go talk to Chara, Even though she already had kicked you out because of me, i still think you should talk to her at least" She knew that she would be dead meat if she stepped foot on the lands but she was sure that chara wouldnt kill Leto. She shifted her body some to where it was more comfertable to lay down. She whinned as even more kicking started to happen and this time it was rather painful. She lowered her head and licked her lips some and then lifted her head and laid on the grass, she shifted again and whined some as she couldnt get comfertable. He was so excited to have his own pups with a female he loved that he felt he could sprout wings and take to the air. But he kept beside her, unable to go too far from her, from his pups who he felt kick his nose again. He didn't want to go talk to Chara. He knew that as soon as he stepped foot onto her territory, she'd tear him a new one from his ear to the tip of his tail. Then how was he supposed to feed his family? Chara sure as Hell didn't care about Koara or the life growing inside her so she would have no reason for feeling guilty about maiming him beyond repair. But they had been close friends ... once. When he had first joined and she had put all her trust in him. It was his responsibility to take his punishments like a male and a friend. He was sure Crosul would take Koara and himself. He had heard good things about the Alpha there, Venix. Besides, he was sure the Alpha needed another strong male to help protect the borders. "Fine, I'll go but promise me you won't do anything stupid while I'm gone? If I know, Chara, I won't come back to you in one piece and I won't be much good for hunting or protecting." he said with a frown. When she shifted and whimpered he turned to her with a frown and nuzzled her neck. "Here, lay on your side and I'll place my head on your belly. That used to sooth the pups when Jet was-" he cut off, as he realized what the memory was that flashed in his mind. Jet had been a sore spot for Koara, considering he had chosen Jet over Koara.
