PERSONALITY!;
Litany is very level-headed and is generally calm and analytical about everything. But she does like to gloat about her victories and even if she doesn’t “win”, per se, she will boast about the fact that she didn’t lose. If it weren’t for the fact that she was dark, Litany would be a very caring she-wolf. She does love her mate and, by extension, her pups, but they are mostly a way to conquer the land. She doesn’t care for useless wolves and will drop them faster than a stone in the water if they prove worthless. She both hates and loves her "friend" (if you could call them that), Koko. She drives Litany mad, causing her to lash out at others at times, but she will always return to the she-wolf.
HISTORY!;
`MOTHER: Caoimhe, unknown/presumed deceased
`FATHER: Adir, deceased
`SIBLINGS: Erebus, deceased. Dittany, unknown/presumed deceased
`MATE: Koko
`PUPS: None
Litany had a humble beginning. The youngest female out of a litter of three pups born to the betas of her birth pack. The alpha pair and beta pair were related through the females, so her cousins were to take over the pack. Her father, while loving, was very harsh towards her. He trained her to be the best fighter she could be. After some time, the young Litany was able to fend off even the toughest of males in her pack when they tried to court her. She had no time for such things. But then, the worst happened.
Her cousins, now the leaders of the pack, turned on their family. They attacked them in the night, killing her father and wounding her mother as she tried to protect them. The three yearlings helped their mother to escape from the violence and came to rest many miles away from their traitorous pack. Their mother never really recovered from the shocking loss of her mate, even after she was well enough to walk without support from her children. All of the training and mock battles her father had put her through had not prepared Litany for the fight against her cousins. This left a deep scar on her heart, filling her up with bitterness and a desire for revenge. She still remembered the path back to her home, and the scents of all of the ones who betrayed her. But it would take time for her to be able to exact her revenge. So she plotted.
When the time came for her to enact her plans, her older brother tried to stop her. Pleaded with her not to bring the pack down on her family. But she wouldn’t listen and instead turned on her brother. He was tossed from the side of a deep ravine and lay, broken and bleeding, at the bottom. Some distant part of her knew that it was wrong, but she was beyond caring. All she wanted was revenge for her father and, now senile, mother. She retraced the steps that the four of them had taken that blood-filled night and wound up in the heart of the pack. They didn’t recognize the strong, feminine she-wolf before them and were wary. With good reason. Every part of her radiated hatred and anger. Then her oldest female cousin walked up to her. A simple question was posed, Who are you? And the response was even simpler. A nightmare. Lunging, before her cousin could react, Litany grabbed her throat in strong jaws and shook her head. Her cousin died soon after, gasping for breath and bleeding. The taste of blood was hot on her tongue and she enjoyed it.
The massacre was over quickly. The small pack fell victim to the fangs of revenge. Covered in blood and slightly wounded, the black she-wolf made her way back to her mother and older sister. Dittany greeted her warily as well, scenting the blood covering her sister. Litany shrugged her sister off and told her that Erebus was dead. Rather than explaining herself, the femme kept walking and left her family behind. They didn’t need her anymore. They would no longer be hunted by the traitors. So as the blood dried to her skin and fur, the lone female left her senile mother in the care of Dittany and began a journey to somewhere new.
The new place she finds is a lovely place, filled with wolves who have sympathetic leanings. She learns of a deity who, while being slightly capricious, takes care of the darkened souls. The thought of such a thing bothered her, but it was an acceptable religion. She fell in with them and became the Alphess of a pack. Something she had hoped to avoid for some time, but it was a small pack that was quite isolated. Deep Waters was the name. It was a lonely existence. No other wolves were a part of her pack for a long time, until a pup came along and attempted to fight her. She was barely up to her ankle, much less big enough to take down a full grown Litany. The femme allowed her to stay, though on a very short leash. There wasn’t much she could do at such a size anyways. That meant that Litany was having to care for her. A task that she groaned about often. And then she found herself without a pack.
Unsure as to how it happened, and quite angry over the fact that she had been exiled from her home, Litany called to her neighboring Alphess. Koko. They seemed to be in a similar predicament. Koko, the once reigning Alphess of Blood River, had lost her pack to Litany’s former pack member. The two formed a bond through the circumstances and came up with a plan to return to their respective rules. Months upon months of mental torture to the two traitors allowed them to slowly chip away at the solidity of their hold on the packs. When the time was just right, Litany and Koko destroyed the packs that they had been betrayed by single handedly. The wolves of the packs would never doubt their strength again, she realized. They were the undisputed Alphesses of Blood River and Deep Waters.
But the time came when that land died that the two of them began to search for a new home. As they walked, the wreaked havoc with the wolves of the areas. They were just like all the others. Traitors who didn’t deserve to live. And they would all get the same treatment. Death. The two of them, having been bonded through circumstance, let their relationship (turbulent though it was) to flourish. They were the closest two females could be, even while they snapped and attacked each other verbally (and some times physically). Litany wouldn’t have it any other way. But soon they happened upon a new land. One the whispers told her was called Tartarus. The wolves here were just like the ones back home. Traitors. They would fit in nicely.
The two decided to come up with a plan to cause even more problems than they had at the last place they stopped. Infiltrate a “Light” pack and wreak havoc with them until their mental stability was questioned. Then, take them down. But to do so, one would have to act like a slave to the other. Litany, being older, requested (more like claimed) the position of Mistress and voluntold Koko to be the slave. It was the only thing, in her mind, that would work. How could an upstart wolf like Koko take her, the one who massacred a whole pack, down easily? So that was the plan. And it was time to start!
