Twilight was setting comfortably about the land, dim light from the rising moon threw dark shadows under the trees and rocks. A dark wolf, shades of blue cutting across her steely pelt, padded through the evening. She stopped often, he nose twitching as she scented the plants, the ground, the air for signs of the borders to the Dynsay pack. Despite rinsing her body at every opportunity, Flint still carried the scent of her old pack and, to her aggravation, her former Alpha now enemy Nahani. After their "disagreement" and her self imposed banishment, the warrior had fled Ilahlari in search of a home clean of evil. Now she searched for Chara, another enemy of Nahani he often fought although Flint had never seen. Rumors of the land spoke of her struggle to protect her land against Nahani's tainted soul. It sounded like a cause that the dark she-wolf would gladly lend her tooth and claw to.
Covering the fourth mile since she started scenting, a sharp odor burned her nostrils. Flint paused and scouted a wider area, being sure that she was at the border and not chancing across a scent. After completing a 10 foot circle of the area and find more evidence of a pack, she lifted her maw to the faint stars and howled a song to the alpha, to Chara, calling for her presence. She sang her loner status and her desire to wait at the border, not enter, until they met. Letting the wolf call fade into the chill night, Flint trotted and rest upon a rock still warmed from the day's sun. Orange eyes scanned the lands to her left, watching for movement. Blue tipped ears flickered for sounds larger than the night rodents running about in the undergrowth. She hoped the Alphess wasn't far off, she had a dislike for lingering about.

Most creatures would be settling in for the night at about this time, getting comfy in their little 'homes'. That was not a luxury that one had when living so close to an enemy however. The shewolf was always on guard, and rarely ever let herself rest for too long. During the warm heat of the afternoon sun is when she had rested, fully prepared to stay awake all hous of the night. She couldn't have her lands unprotected, and there was no one else to watch them but she. Her beta male was a traitor, he had broken every rule that Chara had set up for her territory. What was worse is that the pathetic male had actually thought he could trick her. Did he honestly think she wouldn't smell the bitch on his fur? Her nose was better then any near these parts, it was impossible to miss such a distinct scent. Of coarse this only meant one thing, banishment. She would much rather have torn out his throat, but unfortunately didn't get the chance.
However just before officially dismissing her beta, a new male had presented himself. He was cocky, flirtacious, and aggressive. Three things that while they annoyed her, made him interesting and appealing as well. So she had allowed the white male to stay upon her lands, though she would watch him carefully. There was no trusting males, not in the next few months anyway. As she patrolled the border, her attention was pulled when a howl rang through the sky. Her ears perked up and she listened closely, her lips curling into a satisfied smile. Finally, a wolf who understood boundaries and pack laws. Chara quickly picked up her pace and followed the direction from which the song had come. She only had hopes that this loner would accept her laws, and become a useful resource for the pack.
Her feet carried her swiftly through the brush until she came to the border where the female had been standing. The new scent hit her nostrils almost instantly and her fur rose on her back. A low growl echoed in her throat as she peered into the darkening forest for the figure of this newcomer. This stranger was not fresh, she was tainted by the scent of Nahani. A scent that mae Chara's blood boil and her teal orbs harden. "You" she called to the female in a dark tone. "What business does a follower of Nahani have here?" she questioned with a growl. Saying his name made her sick to her stomach, the word tasted like bile in her mouth. The dark shewolf didn't have long to answer before Chara's patience wore thin and she chased the bitch from her lands.

The sounds of the alpha female's approach reached Flint's blue ears before the she-wolf's form was visible in the fading light. She stood and faced the leader, noticing the raised fur and rolling growl that washed over the clearing. Flint knew this was going to happen, Nahani's scent was strong when fresh. Even though weeks have gone by since she left, with daily attempts to weaken, his stench still clung to her body. She recognized the look in the femme's eyes, it was similar to the one she gets right before a fight breaks out. Not wanting to fight the wolf she wanted to call Alpha, Flint lowered her head and tail, pricking her ears forward in show of respect.
"Hear me out Mistress, as I am no longer a followed of that tainted soul. I was enslaved to his ill will, endless deaths by my own teeth and claws regardless of the harm done to myself. I lived in a blood crazed state for moons. But no longer. I am free of Nahani" The name turned into a snarl as her anger and disgust of the male rose to the surface, her own fur bristling as her ears briefly flattened against her head. "I wish to fight the ones of dark hearts, and the voices of the lands are filled with your name and cause. Give me a good look Alphess for I am covered with marks of many fights, only outnumbered by kills. It's all hidden by mine coat." A rough breeze blew across them, pushing her dark fur around, revealing black scars long healed. She had spoken a lot more that she normally did but it was for a good reason lest she risk a fight with the femme. Swishing her tail, absently, Flint regarded the leader from under her fringe of white blue hair, her tangerine orbs peering out between the stands watching for a movement leading to an attack.

Chara took note of the signs of respect that she was getting from the female, as well as the show of submission. It was appreciated to say the least, especially after all of the sheer ignorance she had been receiving lately. Her teal eyes stayed focused closely on the female, still not trusting her. She didn't give her trust out easily, not to any wolf for any reason. It would take months before Krysis even earned a sliver of trust, and he was already on her lands to stay. Purple ears twitched as she allowed the dark she-wolf time to speak. A brow raised curiously at her words, trying to figure out if they were true. The way the female snarled as she spoke his name, is what truly won her over. The look on the femme's eyes, the sound of her voice, it all was unmistakeable hatred for the brute. At long last, someone else with whom she shared her hatred for Nahani. She was surprised it hadn't happened sooner then now, but she didn't care. If this female had been part of Nahani's own pack, then she knew the in's and out's of it. That could prove to be very useful for her.
The alpha female lifted her head and tail, the fur on her back resting. "I didn't know my name had spread over the lands" she admitted firstly. Her pack wasn't exactly blossoming or large by any means. Chara walked forward carefully, her eyes neer leaving the female before her. "If I am to trust you, and take you in, then you will have to prove that I am making the right decision" she told the female. Chara didn't step past her borders, stopping at them to examine the blue she-wolf closer. She had good weight on her, and the muscles on her body looked well defined. All around the female looked like she was in good health and would make a fitting member. "I have strict rules for my pack. If you are to survive here, you will follow them. The last wolf who didn't was lucky to escape with his life" she told her, wanting the dark female to know that she meant business. If it came down to it, Chara would not hesitate to kill this female.

Flint relaxed from her submissive pose, raising her head and tail to a comfortable height again. Since the alpha had cooled down, Flint didn't feel the need to cramp up her muscled frame when she could remain respectful in comfort. Her urge to explain herself had also fled, leaving her usual quiet observation behind. It was during these times that Flint spoke a sentence or two rarely and speeches like the one she had just delivered were.. well once in a blue moon. Her hatred for Nahani called for so many words, which seem to have won Chara over for the time being. Flint's orange orbs followed the colorful femme as she circled around, inspecting her body. Feeling subconscious, the dark essa flicked her tail in the air, her blue ears turning to catch her words clearly. Folding her hind quarters, Flint lowered herself to sit in order to rest the back left leg that Nahani had injured in their fight leading to their parting. There was no physical sign of the wound but she had a soft limp well hidden as long as she had the energy to do so.
A bird flew by, chirping loudly as it passed over head. A hint of a smirk appeared on Flint's maw. The creatures of the land speak about a lot of things, if you choose to listen, wolf packs rarely go unspoken of. Feeling like she was perched upon the border of being accepted onto the lands, Flint bowed her head again How do I prove such a decision Mistress.. and what are these rules? She wanted to stay here, to live here working and fighting to bring down Nahani and his pack. The femme was willing to do what was necessary to fulfill it.

The alpha female watched as the other she-wolf seemed to relax a bit herself. It wasn't exactly a good idea on her part, because around strangers you should always be on guard. However if Chara had mean to hurt the female she would have done it already. Instead she was no considering bringing this lone female into her pack, finally allowing it to grow. The prospect of having another female around wasn't all too appealing, but to have another warrior around made up for that fact. Chara had never really gotten along well with other females, but she would easily overlook that fact as long as the femme didn't get in her way. Teal orbs watched the other sit, inspecting and calculating every move that the other made. This female was respectful, and obviously good at fighting, then to add on top of that the hatred she held for the dark brute. There was no doubt in her mind that Flint would make a good pack member. This would mean more members to help hunt, to help patrol the borders, and to finally take some of the pressure off of herself. It would be nice to actually be able to relax on her own lands for a change. Maybe she would get the sleep she had beenso deprived of these last few weeks. Being the single wolf in a pack was hard, especially with enemies so close at hand.
Chara's brow raised curiously, still curious as to what exactly others were saying about her. She knew that she was harsh, and could be cruel, but it was necessary to survive so she didn't care what others thought of her attitude. That was never a problem for her, worrying what other wolves might think of her. Let them dislike her, let them be afriad of her, she didn't give a rat's ass what they said. Her purple ears twitched and she sat back on her haunches, prepared to answer the she-wolf's questions. "Well to start you will be placed at the lowest ranking. You will be given specific duties to perform and are expected to do them diligently and without fuss. Once you have proven to me what kind of asset you are here, then you shall have the possibilities of gaining rank" she began to explain. If this female was able to handle the tasks given to her, then she would prove her worth to the pack as well as her loyalty. "As for the laws, they are few, but I am very strict with them. Firstly, there will be no love on my lands. If you are searching for a mate then leave now. Second, there will be no producing of pups. If this is done both parents will be chased from the lands, and they will be killed if caught. These lands are not a place for weakness, both love and pups make wolves weak. You lose your focus and drive for what is needed, and only worry about those you care for. Third, you will respect myself and all decisions made by me. What I say goes, no matter what you think of it. Lastly, you will perform your duties with no delay and always be on guard. I will not having anyone slacking off, and those caught doing so will be banised" she finished explaining the laws of her pack and stared at the female. It would be interesting to see what this she-wolf thought of her laws. If she did not except, then so be it.

The dark she-wolf listened to what would hopefully be her new laws. They weren't exactly to her liking but it was still better than what she had in Nahani's pack. At least here, Chara wouldn't force her to fight to her death. Despite how much Flint loved the thrill, a wolf could only go so far before they lost. Flint was one that would keep going, even if it would lead to her death and Nahani exploited that fact far too much. He risked her life time and time again, sending her out to fight repeated, regardless of her health. More often that not, Flint was injured or exhausted to the point of collapsing and only by "delaying" her missions did she continue on. Even now, she had pushed herself through the pain of her broken foot to find sanctuary with another pack before Nahani came after her again.
Flint nodded as the colored femme explained the rules, her distaste of her low ranking causing her ears to flicker back. Everything else she could deal with, she did not yet desire a mate nor pups as she was too aggressive for such tender thoughts. The third was common sense. The last law made her tail swish nervously. Nahani had a similar such rule and it was a part of Flint's nature anyway but it was far to easy for it to be abused. She didn't stop to heal or rest until ordered and in Ilahlari, it never came. The dark essa hoped that Chara would be different by not working her as hard. She was more than willing to fight for the pack but there was a line that could only be crossed in dire times. "Your word is law and the law is hard. And yet, it is better than where I was with that poisoned brute." Her fangs flashed as she spoke of her former Alpha, glad to be rid of him. She looked toward the future of leading the warriors of Dynsay, if Chara chose it to be right.

The alpha female watched the other closely as she explained the laws of the pack. Taking in every slight movement that the dark she-wolf made. It was easy to tell which laws she did not like, and which she didn't mind. Her teal orbs took not of every little twitch that Flint made. She needed to be sure that she understood everything she was telling her. There would be no going back from here if she accepted a place in the pack. Chara would not have another wolf turning their back on her, Leto had been lucky to escape with his life. Any ease that she took on the wolves of her pack had been destroyed, only to be returned by loyalty from others. It was expected that the female wouldn't like her low ranking, but she deserved nothing more. The dark femme had yet to prove herself to Chara, and had only just barely been accepted. To give her any sort of ranking would be to put trust in her that the alpha female simply did not have. It took a lot to earn trust from the dark queen. Even more now then ever before, no matter how great the reason may be. Her ears perked up and she sat on her rear, staring at Flint and waiting for what her response might be. Red and purple tail tapping against the ground anxiously, not comfortable with waiting for very long for answers.
Chara's head tilted to the side as the she-wolf finally spoke, both surprised and not that her laws were not as bad as Nahani's. The brute had been more then eager to start producing lineage for himself, she would expect nothing less from him now. Her nostrils flared and she snorted distastefully at the thought of Nahani spawning more pups. "If you accept these laws then I welcome you to the pack. Do not make me regret my decision" she said darkly, getting to her feet. She stepped back from the border and then moved in-land a bit. She turned her gaze back on Flint and motioned for her to follow. "Come, I will show you the lands and our borders which are to be protected" she offered, not hesitating a moment longer before turning and walking off. She didn't have time to sit around and chat, she had to patrol the borders still.

Flint noticed the other female's scrutiny of her every action but paid it no mind. In the light of the rising moon, the dark wolf watched the queen sit impatiently. Flint wondered what law had been broken, and who was nearly killed in doing so. Or what thoughts were running through her head that caused such a reaction as tilting her head and snorting. Banishing the thoughts from her own mind, she nodded coolly to her new Alpha in a way of accepting her offer of joining the pack. As she made to stand, the painted wolf hid a wince at the stiffness in her foot and trotted lightly to catch up her leader. Her dark coat shimmered blue in the moon's light, the blue markings changing to silver in its glow. Realizing that although she knew Chara's name, she did not know hers yet. Slowing to a walk along side her, Flint spoke calmly "You never asked my name Alphess... It is Flint. I was Ilahlari's warrior, a rank I hope I can take here if you see fit.. when the time is right. It's all I know." She fell silent again for the time being, wondering if Chara would question her about herself... or Nahani's pack, as they walked. Not that she knew much about it since she was gone majority of her year in Ilahlari.
The colored wolf found herself glad to be on the move again, she hated sitting around. It was unproductive and dangerous. While they chatted, someone could have attacked them. Not that they would have gotten far with both Flint and Chara being there but things could happen and there were a lot of crazy wolves out there. She swished her tail as they walked, her orange orbs watching the shadows around them for movement only spotting night walking rodents and birds. As a owl blinked at her from above, a thought occurred to her. "How many others are there, in the pack?" The only other wolf that she had mentioned was the one who had broken a law, escaped death and was banished from the lands. She hoped that there was more than the two of them, keeping the lands free from the constant threat of Ilahlari would be a feat with only two wolves, one being a former member.
